"Beauty produces a kind of pain, and if it is particularly painful, I react with the camera", Sven Tiedemann quoted the photographer Ernst Haas.
The search for beauty, for dreams and aspirations is the motivation, which finds its expression in his black and white photos. In this way Tiedemann directs the scenes, models and landscapes for his photographic compositions - precisely, there is nothing left to chance - mostly inspired by the grace of the human body, an expression of the imagination and dreams of the photographic artist himself. In this way Sven Tiedemann presents himself entirely as a romantic photographer technically as well as in the context of the photographic vision.

Bernhardt Rengert, Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung, 26.02.2001

„He doesn’t create surfaces without a content, instead he arranges with artistic tools the elegance of women in their natural splendor. The models act professionally between idealized and earthly-sensual beauty and between spiritual and profane love. The staged scenes and ingenious imagery bring visitors into tingling moments of surprise. Imaginative visions astound with fine eroticism combined with accurate lighting. Tiedemann sets body and landscapes in an exciting dialogue.

This collection of erotic photos proves that Sven Tiedemann represents a serious artistic position. He has his own picture language, and yes he affects trends in the contemporary nude photography.”

Jürgen Tremper, Nordkurier, 9.12.2004

“In Spain Sven Tiedemann has realized his dream: to create images that look like paintings.”

Elisabeth Meyer, Barmstedter Zeitung, 30.11.2010
